Notes: Royal Guard are pikemen (pillar of the stylites for projectile resistance, solar spire for blinding aura) Martyrs are irregulars (merc camp for +1 def & dmg, and Mariner Guild for water concealment), but Exalted are infantry (slaughter pits for killing momentum, library of the dark arts for fear strike), so they may lose some irregular buffs and gain infantry buffs when they evolve.ġ) Eventually, Armageddon will give EVERYBODY in your empire 100% spirit protection, so choosing to spend skill points on spirit protection, though initially very helpful, may end up being considered wasted points in the end-game.
So Hero acquisition can take longer overall, if you're inclined towards Royal Guards. Not a Guide, per se, just a collection of observations & thoughts:įrostlings, more than other races, tend to be picky about taking on new Heroes (you're gunning for Frostlings for the Royal Guard's Pledge of Protection ability, and their governance-granted Lifestealing to help them stay on their feet, but if you're in a rush to grab up those Heroes and you're not getting any good picks, then a Martyr will do the same job, even when they grow up to be Exalted).
